Dear Guests,

On behalf of Fr. Joseph M. Augustine, the teachers, the staff and I, we welcome you to Our Lady of Peace School.  It is my privilege to greet you as you begin to view our website.
Whether you are visiting as a potential parent, a current OLP family, an alum, or as a community leader, we are excited to share our love of Our Lady of Peace with you.

Entering my fourth year as principal and as a member of the Class of 1994, I am eager to welcome a new and fantastic year at our beautiful hilltop school.

Our theme for the 2018-19 school year is “BE EXTRAORDINARY!”  Each day we strive to make a difference in the lives of our students.  We want them to learn to reach out and do the same.  Whether it is making an impact in our community, within our families, or amongst our peers, we want our students to realize that simple kindness and service to others can make such a difference in the lives of so many.  We are excited to begin a year and watch our students grow in the goodness of God.

How big can you dream? Our students are taught in an environment that recognizes the potential in each child. Our culture of life-long learning provides positive reinforcement, self-confidence and guided instruction to build a desire for excellence and creativity. Our faculty guides our children to discover their own passion for learning as they explore opportunities before them.

We are a strong community of 193 students in PK3 through eighth grade. Our families come from nearby communities, Mount Olivet, Mozart, Bethlehem; but not all – and that’s just another reason we are so exceptional.

Students at OLP come from all over Marshall County – Glen Dale, Moundsville, Washington Lands, and McMechen. Students travel from as far south as New Martinsville and Proctor. They drive from the western communities of Dallas Pike and Cameron. They come from northern communities throughout Wheeling including Triadelphia and Valley Grove. Our students even travel across the River from St. Clairsville and Shadyside.

So why do more than 60 of our students travel 20 minutes or more to get to school – it is simply because of reputation and focus.

We work very hard as a faculty, school board, and parish to offer not only an excellent education, but also arguably and more importantly a nurturing, inspiring and welcoming environment for every child. We are always working on new and exciting curriculum; we are continually transforming our programs to stay in the lead; and we are standing firm on our foundation of faith – that will never change.

If you are new or even a lifelong resident of the area, we encourage you to schedule a visit.  We would love to show you what we have to offer your family.

If you are part of our alumni, stop by and let us welcome you back.

Regardless of your interest in Peace, thank you for taking your time to visit us on the web. We’re glad you did.  God Bless.

With Peace,

Maureen Kerr

Principal
